Melting Brie with Strawberries and Balsamic

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Servings: 8

Ingredients:

  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) maple syrup
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) balsamic vinegar
  • 8 frozen strawberries, halved (Québec-grown from Bleu & Bon)
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) pecans, chopped
  • 1 double cream Brie (350 g)
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) fresh basil leaves, small

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a saucepan, bring the maple syrup and balsamic vinegar to a boil over medium heat. Let simmer for 10 minutes on low heat until it reaches a syrupy consistency. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix the strawberries with the pecans.
  4. Place the Brie in a Brie baker or a small baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Spread the strawberry and pecan mixture over the cheese. Drizzle with the maple syrup reduction. Continue baking for another 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil leaves.
