Fruitomed is a Quebec enterprise specialized in the production of natural products with a high concentration of polyphenols.
OUR BEGINNINGS | The Plantations!
In 2009, our great adventure began with the creation of our company AU VERSANT DU SUREAU, located in the municipality of Adstock in Chaudière-Appalaches (Québec).
The year 2009 marked the beginning of the preparation of our fields and the production of our first elderberry cuttings. These were planted in the field as early as 2010. Since then, elderberries have been cultivated on 17 acres, with edible elderberry varieties ranked among the richest in antioxidants and specifically developed for fruit production by AGRICULTURE CANADA.
PROCESSING FACILITY
In 2014, we created FRUITOMED (which means "Fruits with Medicinal Properties") in parallel, a company specializing in the processing of small fruits from Québec, intended for the production of natural health products with a high concentration of polyphenols. The 6000-square-foot facility holds a license for the manufacturing of natural products issued by Health Canada (license 302371), which means that the production must meet the requirements and quality controls established by HEALTH CANADA. FRUITOMED also holds a Preventive Control Plan, overseen by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), ensuring ingredient control from their arrival at the facility to their distribution.

FRUITOMED proudly sources exclusively from small fruit producers in Québec for the production of its products. These partners must produce high-quality fruits and cultivate them using organic or natural farming methods.

Proudly Quebecois, FRUITOMED specializes in the manufacturing of antioxidant-rich products.
Discover our products made from medicinal ingredients that are effective for health and highly concentrated in polyphenols, such as anthocyanins, quercetin, rutin, resveratrol, dihydromyricetin, proanthocyanidins, catechins, etc. These bioactive molecules are extracted from the most antioxidant-rich fruits grown in Quebec (elderberry, haskap, aronia, blackcurrant, wild blueberry, and cranberry).
All certified by HEALTH CANADA with their NPN licenses, our products are marketed under the IMMUNIA brand. They are used to modulate and regulate the immune system, promote gut microbiota balance, as well as for their anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral properties, and to support vision health.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
To produce high-quality products, it is essential for us to start with superior-quality fruits and ingredients. It is crucial for FRUITOMED that all the fruits we use in the manufacturing of our products are perfectly ripe at harvest. The fruits ripen on the trees to preserve all their natural molecules and be filled with antioxidants. All our products use elderberries as a primary ingredient, which are also grown in Quebec, hand-picked, and carefully selected to ensure they are healthy and perfectly ripe. Additionally, once they arrive at the factory, elderberries and all other small fruits, such as cranberries, wild blueberries, blackcurrants, haskaps, and aronia, undergo a sorting process, and only the fully ripe, dark-colored category A fruits are selected for the production of IMMUNIA products. This is why our IMMUNIA products are of high quality and effective for health, thanks to the high concentration and quality of the polyphenols they contain!
OUR MISSION!
As parents of three children, we wanted to make it easier to get antioxidants into our diet, even during the months when fruits were out of season, and to develop products that were effective, easy and quick to consume, and delicious.
After several years of research, we developed a cold concentration process that allows us to concentrate the molecules and preserve the full integrity of the polyphenols contained in the fruits. We launched our product line under the IMMUNIA brand. Our main mission was to market high-quality products that are effective for health, easy to consume, and delicious.
PIONEER IN THE FIELD OF POLYPHENOLS
Fruitomed's IMMUNIA products were the very first natural health products made from Quebec elderberries to receive approval from HEALTH CANADA for the claim: Provides natural antioxidants for the maintenance of good health.
Although elderberry has been known for many years for its antiviral properties, it is thanks to FRUITOMED and its many scientific partners that Quebec elderberries have been popularized for their powerful antioxidant properties. Additionally, FRUITOMED has proudly collaborated since 2013 with various causes and research on cancer and aging.

Partner in cancer research
Fruitomed collaborated with the Chaire de Recherche en Prévention et Traitement du Cancer de l’UQAM for a study evaluating the « IMMUNIA® Elderberry Concentrate » and the elderberries grown by Fruitomed. (Journal of Functional Foods. Vol. 40, 2018, 164-179).
All IMMUNIA® products contain "elderberry concentrate" as a basic ingredient.
